Our Mission

Langa Cheshire Home provides a variety of services for adults and children with severe permanent disabilities. We provide residential accommodation and support services for persons who are socially active and who do not require permanent frail care. We provide transportation with ramps or hoists designed to provide secure transport for wheelchair users.

Who we are
Background

Langa Cheshire Home is a member of Cheshire Homes South Africa and Leonard Cheshire Disability Global Alliance. It has a deep understanding of disability developed over 28 years and has a proud record of having made a positive and lasting impact on the lives of many persons with disabilities in the Western and Eastern Cape provinces of South Africa. Langa Cheshire Home provides residential care and accommodation for profoundly disabled people who are unable to live without the kind of care we offer, either because of financial constraints or because their families are unable to assist them. All residents use wheelchairs. We accommodate 26 residents and have a long waiting list. Whilst residential care for people with medium to high support needs is our core business, the move to independent living has gained momentum. This provides an opportunity for our residents to develop skills and live independent self-directed lives. LANGA CHESHIRE HOME is situated in a previously disadvantaged, impoverished and social challenged community. If you want to support and fund an excellent non-profit organisation (NPO) and public benefit organisation (PBO) in South Africa who has good credentials and is a well-known brand, LANGA CHESHIRE HOME is a good choice.

Mission

To provide care and support services which empower persons with disabilities. To work in partnership with people with disabilities to provide residential accommodation and services that promote independent living and pursuit of personal aspirations. Also, to initiate projects that address social and economic inequalities, thereby alleviating poverty and facilitating the social integration of people with disabilities into the mainstream society.

In year 2017 I experienced a life changing situation of motor vehicle accident that resulted to an immediate Head and Brain Operation needing to be done. I have made a LIFE COMMITMENT of assisting - in the best of my ability - to develop the standard of living of the residents.
