Empowering People with Disabilities Through Care, Access, and Opportunity
We offer 24-hour accommodation for 26 residents who are wheelchair users and require medium to high levels of support.
Our team supports residents in all areas of daily life, from mobility and hygiene to emotional well-being and social connection.
Mobility should never be a barrier. We provide accessible transportation to help our residents remain connected to the community.
We support residents who are ready to move toward greater independence. This includes helping them gain life skills, confidence, and access to external housing opportunities.
Langa Cheshire Home plays an active role in promoting disability rights and inclusion in the wider community.
For over 28 years, Langa Cheshire Home has been a lifeline for people with severe, permanent disabilities, especially those with limited financial means and no family support. We’ve earned a strong reputation for compassionate, person-centered care.
Located in the heart of Langa, a historically disadvantaged community, we not only provide essential care but also contribute to uplifting the broader community through disability awareness and empowerment initiatives.
While we offer safe, accessible residential accommodation for 26 wheelchair users, our work goes far beyond shelter. We focus on skills development, self-determination, and helping residents move toward independent living.
We are a registered Non-Profit (NPO) and Public Benefit Organization (PBO), partially funded by the Western Cape Department of Social Development. Our financial accountability, governance structure, and affiliation with the Leonard Cheshire Disability Global Alliance speak to our credibility.
Because we operate with a lean team and dedicated volunteers, donations go directly to where they’re needed most, resident care, transportation, food, medical supplies, and maintaining our facilities.
